1. what Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablet is and what it is used for
This preparation is a combination of magnesium and vitamin B6.
Reasons for magnesium deficiency can be:
-
intense physical activity,
-
increased need during pregnancy and breast-feeding
-
insufficient diets, diets lacking in vitamins (special diets, slimming diets,,
-
digestive, absorption disorders (bowel diseases),
-
increased loss of magnesium (diarrhoea, burn injuries, taking particular diuretics)
-
particular medications (particular antibiotics, immunosupressive medicines, chemotherapy medicines)
Symptoms for magnesium deficiency can be:
-
neurological symptoms (concentration impairment)
-
muscle tremours and muscle cramps (e.g.: leg cramps at night)

2. What you need to know before you take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets
Do not take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets if
-
you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the active substances or other ingredients of Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets
-
you have severe renal insufficiency.
Take special care with Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets if
-
you have high blood pressure, coronary diseases or particular kinds of cardiac arrhytmia, talk to your doctor before taking Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6.
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken any other medicines including non-prescription preparations.
It can be co-administered with medicines containing levodopa (medicine used to treat Parkinson’s disease) under medical supervision only.
Particular medicines, e.g. tetracyclines (antibiotics), calcium and iron preparations, bisphosphonates (medicines used to treat osteoporosis) inhibit its absorption, so at least 3 hours should pass between taking these medicines and Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6.
Magnesium may interact with other medicines too (particular diuretics and heart medicines), talk to your doctor before taking Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicines.
During pregnancy and breast-feeding you can take the dose recommended for adults (1 film-coated tablet per day). Other medicines containing magnesium can be taken only if your doctor recommends so.
Driving and using machines
It does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery when taken in the recommended dose.
3. How to take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablet
Always take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets as the doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is:
Adults 1 film-coated tablet per day.
Children:
4-10 years 1/2 film-coated tablet per day.
Above 11 years 1 film-coated tablet per day.
Take the film-coated tablet whole at the end of a meal with at least half a decilitre of liquid (e.g. water, tea, fruit juice, etc.). You can break the tablet if you have difficulty swallowing it whole.
Take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets as long as the state justifying its administration persists. In case of a disease, take it as long as your doctor tells you to do so.
If you take more Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets than you should
Side effects may arise only when doses several times higher than the recommended daily dose are taken for a long period of time.
Symptoms of a possible overdose: weakness, nausea, vomiting, low heart rate (bradycardia), decreased reflexes (hyporeflexia), abnormal physical sensations (paraesthesias), or even reduced level of consciousness in a severe case. As an antibody, i.v. 100-200 mg calcium can be administered by injection lasting 5-10 minutes, and dialysis may also be applied.
If you forget to take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets
Do not take a double dose the next time to make up for the missed film-coated tablet.
If you stop taking Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets
In general, no harmful effects develop when stopping the treatment.

4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Gastrointestinal diseases and symptoms
Diarrhoea and abdominal pain may occur in rare cases when higher than recommended doses are taken. Stop taking the medicine in this case.

Store at or below 25 °C.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not take Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets after the expiry date printed on the packaging (Felhasználható:). The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment..

What Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablets contain

Active substances: each film-coated tablet contains 1.6 mg pyridoxine (in the form of 1.9448 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride) and 250 mg magnesium (in the form of 352.92 mg heavy magnesium oxide, 463.93 mg magnesium citrate).

Other ingredients: magnesium stearate, crospovidone, anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose.
Coating (AquaPolish pink 048.15): hypromellose (E464), polydextrose (E1200), talc (E 553b), glycerin, titanium dioxide (E 171), yellow iron oxide (E172), red iron oxide (E172), black iron oxide (E172).
What Béres Magnesium 250 mg + B6 film-coated tablet looks like and the contents of the pack
Beige, oblong film-coated tablets scored on both sides. The tablet can be divided to equal doses.
30, 60 and 90 film-coated tablets in a white HDPE container, sealed with an aluminium/polyethylene foil and closed with a white polypropylene screw cap. 1 container in a box.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
