As revealed by the National Nutritional and Nutritional Status Survey of 2014, even healthy adults suffer from the deficiency of some micronutrients and it is particularly true for hospitalised patients. The survey by Magyar Mesterséges Táplálási Társaság (Hungarian Artificial Nutrition Association), performed a few years ago, pointed to the same conclusion. The survey indicated an undernourishment rate of 64% in hospitalised adult patients in Hungary. Essential microelements have a preeminent role in metabolism, the functionality of the immune system and the recovery of patients. Thanks to the extreme generous Béres Drops donation by Béres Pharmaceuticals, in-patients at the Gastroenterology and Rheumatology departments of the Buda Hospital of the Order of Hospitallers will have the necessary supply of these essential elements during their hospital stay.
“We are very glad that our donation of Béres Drops will support the recovery of patients already during their hospital stay, under medical supervision in this more than 200-year old reputable institute. I myself owe a debt of gratitude to the doctors here as my father was hospitalised here several times and received utmost care and excellent treatment. He also spent his last days here. It is a strange yet elevating feeling that the construction of the still existing red brick complex of the hospital, built between 1901 and 1903, was ordered by the pharmacist, gastroenterologist, Head of the Order of Hospitallers Kornél Thuróczy – an ancestor of my family." - said Dr. József Béres.
